Interesting. i wanted one of these about a year ago, but now that the Mutant is out and seems to be getting good reviews I'll probably go that route.

I ordered the factory SBR, poly hand guards and stock, it was right at $1999.00

so, you could buy the rifle, receive the rifle, file Form 1, find someone to cut & thread the barrel, add a comp, and end up a little cheaper than $2k, right?

You'll also need your Form 1 info engraved on the receiver, that costs $30-80 depending on who does it. The advantage of the $2k factory SBR is that it still has a factory warranty (the rifles warranty evaporates as soon as you cut the barrel) and doesn't need the extra engraving. Some people will pay more for that, some don't care. |

True. Probably BARELY cheaper to convert the rifle, versus buying the SBR initially.

True. Probably BARELY cheaper to convert the rifle, versus buying the SBR initially. View Quote It's considerably cheaper if you cut the barrel yourself. It's stupid easy.. costs about $75 in tools. $1300 rifle $100ish muzzle device $60 engraving $75 tools $1535 total. Didn't include stamp since you are paying that for both the factory or DIY SBR. |

Dont forget you need to remove the front sight/gas block and drill out the gas restrictor after cutting the barrel on the SLR107UR.

insane pricing, fuck that For what imports are going for now, I'm surprised KVAR isn't charging more. Yeah, they could have priced the rifles at $1700 and sold all of them. People have been paying big bucks to get those for a long time now. $1300 is cheaper than I expected. |

You really have to remove the front site block and drill out a gas port restrictor?

The 104ur was stupid over gassed and had no restrictor, so these may not have it this time around. We won't know until someone checks haha |

I remember a deal a few years back where 106URs with the 16" bbl and folding stock were around $800 so I get stuck comparing everything else to that.
Should've bought one. |

Just read about this last night on the akfiles and had to fight off the purchase. Now I read it here and don't know if I can resist much longer. These forums are costing me a fortune!
Must...resist...!!!! |

So does that make the SBR model a better value considering the extra work that would be required to do the conversion? Also, where can one make a pre-order?

Im on the fence on buying one of these.
Thought about it all day at work and i think im going to pass as im just not into going through all the BS to get the tax stamp, etc The price is outstanding,IF i do buy one it will remain unfired in the box untouched as an investment. These will only go up in price, once they are sold out look for $2K+ on auction sites |

I'm going to pass. I'm tired of dealing with the fickle nature of the AK market.

Try pricing out used SLR-107UR's, or any Krink built on one of the imported kits. $1300 is cheap by comparison. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I bet now the price on the 104ur is gonna go through the roof as thats now the "rarer" model.. Im getting really sick of these games too.. I feel like they play us for fools and we just eat it up like dogs.. Im good, i would rather have a nice noveske or something at this point. If they really gave a crap about the american market arsenal would have had there most advanced model with the picitinny rail dust cover here a month after it was available, im still waiting on that vaporware.
You guys can keep this turd im gonna get a desert tech bullpup soon !! Thats a cool gun!! ...Sorry im cranky.. But arsenal can go to hell..?? |

I don't mean to poop in this thread at all- I own a couple of Arsenal /Legion guns and No Rifle Dynamics customs.
It appears that (probably commensurate with a wait) you can get a "custom" Rifle Dynamics SBR build at a few hundred dollars more than these guns. The RD stuff appears to me to have a good reputation. Is the collectability of a "factory" Arsenal SBR a big plus here? Assuming I just wanted a well assembled problem free gun to use (as opposed to holding as an investment) how do the Aresnals and RD guns compare? |
|
Glad they're back, but I'm going to pass. I have zero Arsenal 7.62x39 rifles so don't want to go down that path. I prefer the small-bore AKs in 5.45 and 5.56 anyway.
Already SBR'ed the 104UR and 106UR, so I'll just play with those instead. |
|
Wish i had the random cash for one. I'll probably miss out seeing these are most likely a limited run.
