It doesn't dissipate heat the best, but it doesn't get hot. Just a little warm. It will stay a little warm for longer than a basic polymer handguard does since the insert is steel and relatively thick.
Unless you have soft girlish hands it shouldn't bother you. |

The insert is aluminum.

No girl hands here, lol. Thanks. I just ordered a Zhukov. As I see it, anything will be better than the crappy unknown maker quad rail I had.

I recently did a video review of this and the heat mitigation was mentioned or should I say the lack thereof.

There is not a lot of surface area the help heat dissipate. I'm going to try to drill a whole bunch of 1/4 holes in some areas to increase the surface area. This kind of thing is not cost-effective for a manufacturer though. The extrusion is pretty thick. Nice Gray K! |
