A little pricey, but not bad considering.

How are these getting in?

They could of been held up in customs when the ban started.

I've noticed a couple of retailers getting there "last" shipment of Saigas or Veprs lately.

OP is talking about a Russian saiga because it was supposedly banned from import due to sanctions against Russia.

It has come out recently that the Kalashnikov company was sold to someone NOT on the no no list, so maybe that is the reason.

Legion were taking preorders on the mk103 and mk101 earlier this year so they were paid for in advance and they were allowed in for that reason.  They were $200 cheaper though during the preorder.

There are still Russian rifles floating around out there (though not this one, obviously). They aren't being imported anymore but there wasn't a shortage of them in the supply chain when the ban came down.

So are these no longer available then?

They are sold out (they only had 7 available) and no more can be imported (unless they were ordered and on the way before the sanctions)

Is that a Russian short collar stepped brake? Seems odd, since they haven't used that style in a long time.

This ^^^

Im sure we will continue to see Saigas and VEPRs show up for another year before the big importers finally admit the flow hasn't stopped because the Russians already went around Obama.  But right now they can charge extra cuz people think there wont ever be another and they dont want to lose that premium.  I dont blame em, Id probably do the same if it was my business but its still annoying lol

edit:  forgot to mention, the real 'proof' for me is seeing places like Legion USA having sales.  I somehow doubt they would do that if they were gonna run out anytime soon

The Obama administration sucks, but it's really Russia's fault for bringing this to the forefront. It gave our government the excuse to ban Russian firearms.

Pretty much. It certainly was not missed by the administration that they could clamp down on gun owners by doing this but it would not have come to pass if the Russians were not being ragging jackasses in the Ukraine in violation of the Budapest Memorandum. Unforunately, the current administration does not have the will, experience, or knowledge to actually do anything about that.....so they do things like this that, while sucks for us, hopefully sucks at least somewhat for the Russians.

Im just curious, what would you like to see an administration with balls do about the Ukrainian situation?  America isn't in the business of winning wars anymore.  Way too much money to be made by making them endless attempts at world policing and spreading democracy lol.  America should just mind our own business and let the savages do whatever they want with the threat of nukes (which should not be shied away from) when anyone directly attacks us.

Russia's fault for trying to prevent an illegal government in Kiev from slaughtering millions of Russian speaking dissenters? The American Communists will seize on any reason to makes arms and ammo less available to the people. And it was the American Communists who toppled the legal government of Kiev in favor of a regime that would enslave Ukraine to Western debt. It's odd that anyone would accept the propaganda from Obama and his minions on Ukraine, knowing they have lied on every other issue.

Oh....a Russian 5.56 AK triangle folder ..... hell yea.... but the Bulgarians beat them to it. I would like some of those those Russian 5.56 mags though.

Importers had ample supplies of rifles in stock before the sanctions. Some of them, if not all of them, pulled those from the market once the sanctions came down to see what was going to happen.  Some said they were working with their legal teams to figure out what the sanctions meant and others were more forth coming and said they were sitting them out until they figured out what the market was doing.

Either way, there's currently no shortage of new Russian AK's in the country. RWC had plenty of them as do other importers.  There was the briefest of spikes in sales then the market fell out of them again.

This, if anyone is to blame it is Putin and his regional aspirations of dominance.

The absolute simplest starting point would have been for the sanctions to have been industry wide immediately rather than targeted at individuals. Russia is energy kleptocracy, clip the base of that economic system. Then watch the capital flight, FOREX reserves crash, expedited currency free float come in to play, Rubble crash, oil tax receipts plummet, and the economy contract costing him and his cronies forcing Putin to go after all of the oligarchs for needed money to fund the states. The basic need for any revenue to the state would hold off the cutting of all gas supplies since that is their only real source of currency and none of their forward looking contracts have the infrastructure in Asia to make them worth the paper they are written on or producing so they would not be able to afford to turn off the gas. As it is, the slow boil allowed them to make adjustments and get used to the new normal rather than shocking them into actually living up to the agreements they have made.

And that does not even get to the other options on the table.

But there was not even the intestinal fortitude for that.
