I posted a while back about having trouble getting off a slant brake on my wasr. I have since then soaked it in hoppes and taken some small picks to get all the carbon deposits from around the end of the barrel. I ran a string around the space between the brake and the fsb to check for any welds I could not see. Hit the gym up, got some vice grips and tried again. Still will not budge.

At this point I am considering getting a dremel, chisel and hammer and cutting the sob off, but want to be careful not to damage the threads. Any thoughts on this? Good idea bad idea? Other options?

Just making sure, but you know the threads are right-handed, right?

Roger that. Pushing in the plunger. Turning it righty to loosen it.

I shot it a bunch and never cleaned the brake area, So it had a lot of carbon build up. Think that kind of maybe is causing the problem, but I have soaked and scraped and still no joy.

Try using a torch to heat the slant brake.

+1.   Makes W-D 40, Liquid wrench,PB Blaster, ect. Obsolete.
I too would try the "heat and beat" method before cutting.  Most of all, remain patient. Good luck.
