I have heard more than a few dog out the UTG PRO..For the life of me I can't figure out what they are talking about......Just so you know(ak shoppers) the side mount is good to go...It holds zero, it's robust, it just works. On top of that it's 34.00 bucks..I shot this target from a 100 yards @ the GA gun club today..I took the Aimpoint off 4 times and re-installed it and the result was the same..This is a great Side mount so don't be shy to give it a try..Really good mount!!

I picked up one of those for my VEPR 308. It's one of the lowest mounts I could find, plus it sits dead center over bore and isn't excessively heavy as some of the AK mounts are. That's why I bought it.
It's rock solid, but when you take it off, the tension screw loosens up a tad, do you have to re-adjust when you put it back on. Not exactly a huge deal. Re-zeros as far as I can tell.

I run the UTG quick disco side mount 5th gen (not the PRO version) and I've had no issues with mine. As mentioned above, it centers with the receiver and returns to zero fine at 100 yards with a 6x scope. I did put some loc-tite on my tension adjuster when I first got it set and has not come loose after dozens of removals. I also run a UTG quad rail on my AK and have a UTG drop-in quad rail on one of my ARs. And I have several UTG risers in various sizes on other rifles, all great stuff for the money. Amazon has the 5th gen currently for $32 and the PRO for $50, if anyone has a PRO for less than that it's a bargain.

Has anyone had issues with their Pro mount being too tight on the side rail?

I recently bought one and was putting it onto my WASR 22, but it took a rubber mallet to slide it on. Not sure if the side rail is out of spec or if the Pro mount is the issue.

I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but as long as YOU are happy with it, then good purchase
