A buddy of mine bought one of these.  He received it Monday, we took it to the range today.  Fit and finish looked good enough on it. However...after about 20 rounds we had a failure to extract.  We cleared the round, dropped the bolt and had a slam fire.  We dropped the mag again and cleared it.  Reinserted the mag, charged it and the hammer would'nt fall. Cleared it, disassembled it, and noticed that the hammer was cockeyed in the receiver.  The hammer pin sheared off on the left side of the receiver.  Looks like it's going to have to go back to IO.

The front sight post also had zero tension and would spin under recoil.

No doubt, nasty. Seen some other complaints about these rifles recently. That cast bolt carrier is lame.

Pass.  Other nicer rifles out there around this price point.

OP: Hope it's not too late but my humble opinion is to stay far, far away from anything with "IO" stamped on it:

I noticed one of mine was like this too.  Luckily I gave it a good once over before shooting.  Retaining plate was not properly installed.  I don't know if it's related but the fcg was not a tapco but marked I.O. USA.  I swaped all of it out and it fits and cycles well.  No real ammo ran through yet though......in a few weeks that should change.

I would just buy a trigger/hammer pin from Brownells or somewhere else before shelling out the bucks to pay for shipping back to them.  That way you can still use it
