I'm REALLY interested in how well the forend handles heat with the 7.62 barrel after a couple hundred round in a reasonably short time period? I would love to do a build like this.  But the heat question is really a concern for me. Function before form and all that. .. I'm wondering if I could fabricate a light weight heat sink or shield to give it help in staying cool?

I haven't had any complaints with it overheating.  However, the most I've shot in terms of "rapid fire" was maybe two mags in five minutes.  

Finally SBR'd this thing (in photoshop)...
