Sounds like you need to have a rifle modded by a reputable AK smith |

Treid that they are sold out of anything of real interest (AK clone). Maybe I'll just finally change my DL over form NJ to DE and buy an arsenal

Here is a tip for you and your brother if you are willing to take an extra small step. You can buy any AK online in any configuration (as long as the receiver doesnt literally say "AK-47" on it). Then you have it shipped to an FFL in PA who also happens to be a gunsmith that does all this type of work. Have him take care of all that nonsense and when he is finished, you drive over there and you do a transfer just as if you would any other gun. Perfectly legal, perfectly fine. Its no different than having it done anywhere else as long as its done before its transferred into your hands. If you want to quit searching high and low send me a PM because i have a guy that did all mine. Hes the best in the business for that area and his prices are excellent. Hes awesome and a really nice guy to chat with too. He will take care of you.

I thought the dealer had to be in jersey as my firearms ID card is for new jersey. You need one of these to purchase guns in NJ. I dont see how I could buy a gun in PA with a NJ permit? Seems too good to be true. If that were the case couldn't I just buy a normal AK and just keep it in DE where I live now and not suffer the stupid laws of NJ? |

If you are a NJ resident and are buying with a NJ resident DL, it doesnt matter what state you go to buy a gun, you still need the FID card and need to do NJ paperwork. Buying a gun in PA as a NJ resident is no different than buying one from a NJ dealer. The only thing you cant do is buy a pistol from out of state. If you went to a PA shop and wanted to buy a pistol as a NJ resident, you would buy the gun and have it transferred to a NJ FFL, kind of the same as if you bought something online. Every PA dealer pretty much has a stack of NJ paperwork behind their counter. Most of them are alot more friendlier to NJ folks than NJ FFL's because they want their business. However dont try to buy a non post ban rifle from PA because he wont sell it to you. They know the laws just as well as you do. So if you want, go the route i originally said. Also there is a Gun Show in Oaks PA this weekend. Sometimes they have NJ Legal WASR-10's there but sometimes they are a little over priced because they KNOW people are looking for them. They might even have NJ legal Arsenal AKs now that they are on the market from the factory. |
