THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Seems like a decent deal for $1019 considering the prices of AKs these days. |

I wonder if it's new? I wonder if they have a number of them in stock? I wonder what condition it is in? |

Made in Bulgaria. Labor is likely much cheaper out there than in the US.. so the rifles cheaper than a SAM7. |

Didnt the 101s use to be single stack mags? what are these 101s No...Arsenal of Bulgaria probably had some surplus from filling military orders and decided to turn them into Semi auto civilian rifles. |

Well, once again, K-var has "found" some of their "Never-to-be-imported-again" rifles.
Good price though, for a milled rifle. |

Do you think Century likes to import Wasr's that are low cap guns? That's the game they have to play with ATF to get the guns here. Same story with the SSR 85C2 guns, & the PAP Yugo gun too. Once here in the States, the importer can open up the magwell to accept hi cap mags. If importers were still able to import hi cap guns, Century would still be importing the SAR 1 instead of the Wasr. As for the 101 being a recent military over run, I seriously doubt that, as these guns were imported a decade ago. SA-93 = 1993, SLR 95, & 96 = 1995, & 1996. SLR 101 = 2001. GARY N4KVE

Last double stack Bulgarian imports were the SLR95/6s
These are single stacks milled out by Arsenal NV. Just be grateful they brought more in. |

Didnt the 101s use to be single stack mags? what are these 101s No...Arsenal of Bulgaria probably had some surplus from filling military orders and decided to turn them into Semi auto civilian rifles. Arsenal hasn't always been very consistent with their milled AK rifles, especially naming them. I wouldn't jump and say these are the same ones brought in during 2001. I've heard that the ban era ones had single stacks, like you said, but the later ones came in with double stacks. These new SLR-101's looks like a different animal from the ban rifles. Brought in single stack or double stack, it's opened up by the same company so I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

according to KVAR email I got, new imports. Based on the going price of Aks, like postban hungarian with preban parts going for almost $1k, this looks like a great price.

They sold both versions, single stacked and double stacked. My highest round count AK is an SLR101, its got between 15-20 thousand rounds down the pipe. Back when ammo was $70 per 1000, it got abused and has never missed a beat. I think I paid $450 for the rifle and has always been one of my favorite shooters. Picked up another one for less money and has been a safe queen in NIB condition. It's amazing how much in value these rifles have increased. |

K-Var said they are getting 40 in today and some more latter, but they did not know if this is going to be a regular model.
