Having owned rifles with all of them, I will say that the only folder that compromises nothing is the 100 Series side folding stocks. If that isn't an option for you, I find all of the others to be equals assuming we are talking about surplus folders, and not any of the commercial stuff.

Assuming you are talking about the wire folders from those 3 countries, in use they are the same. The Romanian one is different internally.
If I had to pick between the 3 I would just get whatever was cheaper and then get an AMD65 Tech cheek riser. I used to run a Romanian wire folder(lever version) on my SGL21 with a cheek riser, was a pretty solid stock, though not all that comfortable. For the money they are hard to beat if you are looking for a folding stock. That being said, the Bonesteel folder with Magpul CTR that I am currently running kicks the crap out of them.
Edit: Noticed you wanted some pics. Here is a pic of my SGL21 when it had a Romanian folder. I never owned a E. German or Polish, so I can't help you with pics there. ![]() |

I have the Beryl and Romy folders. Both are very sturdy and will stand up to heavy use and abuse. The Beryl is 5/8" shorter than the Romy.
I don't use either one, neither appeal to me all that much. |

I think you guys recommending the Russian folders missed the question.
He is asking about the Polish, E. German, and Romanian folders. |

The butt design brings the pain when shooting a lot. The push button Romys tend to fold while firing after they get worn as well. I didn't miss the question.... just offered a suggestion |

As stated, I rank the wire folders exactly dead even, but if a person is able to have one... the AK-100 series folder stands head and shoulders above the rest and has no equal. |

I prefer the Romy lever folder. While they are all good, if you need to make one fit a MAK 90, the Romy folder is the only one that will work. Since the Chinese receiver is thicker [1.5 vs 1.0 mm] the folder assy needs to be filed a bit to fit. But on the EG, & Polish folders, there is a sheet metal shroud that prevents 'filing to fit". all the hate for the wire folders is unwaranted. they are military stocks made to fire in full field gear. that means steel pot helmets and chin guards/straps.
they were not made to be comfy at the range or the ideal target stocks. when these rommies were $19.99, they were the best thing going! i put one on a mak90 and increased the function and value significantly. i love my near mint german wire folder, it is dead nuts strong, light, and pretyy fast to deploy. |

Don't get me wrong. I think the wire folder is far superior to the underfolder having owned both. I am simply saying that if your project/finances permit... The 100 series is far and away a better stock. There's nothing wrong with the wire side folders in the least. Very functional, and more comfortable than the underfolders that seem to get more attention. |

PITA to install though. Polish is prolly the best of the 3 in terms of design, execution and reliability. AMD65Tech makes a cheek riser for all of them. Never had any issues with comfort of the metal butt against the shoulder but wouldn't wanna try one on a Saiga 12 with 3" magnum slugs either. |
