THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Decided to go out on a limb and order a pair of these for my many ak's without optics. I have an H1 and T1 in the safe, so I figured this would be a great platform. I was going to see if MI came out with a copy, but didn't feel like waiting. Boy was I glad I didn't....... First impressions. I picked up two from Brownells and after I opened up the box, I was happy to see two nicely packaged mounts. Thick cardboard, a cool sticker and black tissue paper (tough tissue paper, of course)
Next, the mount:
The Kobra is a behemoth compared to it, and twice as heavy (estimated)
This thing is ROCK SOLID. Adjusting it was a breeze and it looks like holding zero will be a breeze. Anodizing seems like mil-spec and it's is light as a feather. I sold a TWS Dogleg II and an AKars because I just didn't trust it. I never shot with either, but I just didn't like the design. I will add that this was based on perception, it could very well have functioned perfect. Shooting pics to come.... |

The lever doesn't move at all, its very tight.
I think its zinc- plated steel, though. |

cool thanks for the reply.
I had an early mount for the Vortex red dot, and perhaps I had one with bad qc but the lever wiggled and was loose in the locked position. Looks like its been improved, may have to get one for a T1 micro. Thats a sweet set up. |

That said, its still a cheesey lever design. |

How far will the buttstock fold with the mount in place?

While you're taking the pic, can you measure this distance?
I can't seem to find any documentation noting this width/depth/dimension it sticks out from the side of the receiver. |

However, I just bought that triangle side folder and I'm assuming it wont fold very well with this mount. Would I be correct? I'd prefer this mount over a scout mount, but I'll use an ultimak or Mid west mount if I have too. Thanks, Jake |

Any cowitness? You think this will mount the T1 lower than the TWS w/ a QD mount?

Cowitness is there, but it's more like a lower 1/7th cowitness. Have no compared to a TWS.

Here's a review of an AKML done my MAC on youtube. He does a super good job reviewing things. There is no one I trust more for a review.
