as it should. This stock was actually meant for a 74, but I was having a hard time finding the right one.

Where did you source the Bakelite handguard set?  I'd like to get one and put it on my AKMS underfolder.  I like the look of yours.

bakelite is a mixture. Polish Tantal lower HG and Bulgarian upper with Bulgarian PG.

Rear trunnion and stock is a Polish also. I ended up not doing the lower rivets at this point since I have no jigs. My rational is that the standard stock trunnion only uses 3 rivets....

I will get the lower ones in at some point.

No beauty contest winner. I did a rattle can job on it, but the paint sucks and I am going to strip it and redo this weekend. Will bust out the good camera if the sun decides to come out.

I was going to ask how you fit a Beryl top rail on your AK, then I saw your muzzle.

New here, first post.

To put it brief, I'm a college student, own a remington 870, AK-47, and a Glock 30SF.. mainly because they have all proven to be the most durable time and time again. About to undergo a major makeover. Removing the EOTech and adding a Primary Arms Micro dot for cowitness on the ultimak, since the EOTech is a little bit too high as you can tell in the photo. Also adding a Tekko Lower handguard rail with an AFG2 (until I have the money for the lower ultimak 1913). Other upgrades that have shipped but haven't arrived are the Krebs enhanced safety lever and the tromix extended bolt on handle. After that, I'm ready to pump out another 1000 rounds and continue building my 870 tactical. Love the all black look of the AK, don't really want to go with an FDE or olive drab.

-PWS FSC47
-PMAG 30 Round mag
-VLTOR AK Stock Adapter RE-47
-Magpul MOE Stock Mil-Spec
-Magpul MOE .75" Check Riser
-Ultimak AK Top Rail
-Tekko Lower Handguard Rail
-Magpul AFG2 Grip
-Primary Arms Micro Dot
-Krebs Safety Lever
-Tromix Extended Bolt on Handle

It's almost come together...my project NOS AKMS, aka how to build an expensive underfolder that's not any cooler than a regular parts kit.

Not pictured are the new in wrap handguards and pistol grip. I wanted to use one of the underfolder stock rebuild kits from those armorer's boxes from a while back, but I didn't want to dick with those gnarly rivets.

Russian laminate or Polish?

Polish....my Russian kit is no more than a scattering of parts I scored from Tantal a while back. It's going to be sweet though.

can't wait to see it! Love that polish wood.
Link Posted: 2/24/2015 11:16:07 AM EDT
[Last Edit: Hueto] [#24]
Yeah, Polish wood has its own appeal apart from Soviet. It's definitely more consistent.

It took me a while to parts source this one, and I can't wait to assemble it. I'm going to take my time, so it may take longer than my typical 6 month turn around time. The Childer's receiver is beautiful.

One thing I'm not sure about is barrel choice- Since I'm going to paint this one, do I really want to open up the Romanian stash? Or just go GM?

The basis of my Russian "kit" so far.

This contractor trade-in WASR has seen Iraqi sand and now some rare Alabama snow.  Record snowfall for the month of February, and more than enough to make a "snow Kalashnikov" where the rifle was laying (about 8.5" in my yard this morning).  Pictures were made while it was snowing, only about 3-4" on the ground at that point.

WASR 10 is mine, bought last month, AMD-65 is my brother's, but it's such a cool little variant I wanted to post a pic.  TGI built on FEG receiver of course.

Thank you for your'e service as well Sir

Sorry for waiting 10 pages to respond it's the echo 93 UFCR. IIRC the green one pictures is a prototype. I think he only has black for sale.

[Last Edit: Dullard] [#44]
Friend and forum member Tim McBride was going through some boxes in his garage.  We came up with most of the parts to build this:

</a>" />

Features a Yugo bolt carrier and gas block/front sight combo

The rear sight base and front trunnion are Romanian.

The top cover is East German, as well as the safety/selector lever and trigger guard.

No idea where the bolt came from, and the recoil spring assembly is possibly from either a milled gun or an RPK parts kit.

Runs on a US made Hungarian AMD 65 gas piston, and is topped off by a US copy of the Bulgarian 4 piece flash hider.

The barrel is US made stainless steel that had the original gas port too large.  So it was lopped off to 10.5".
