If I have to carry a lot of weight - and don't need to run - I still prefer the old ALICE gear. But for a chest rig, I got an Eagle AK-47 chest rig from optactical.com and am very happy with it.
The buckles are green. The quality is good. It's not too pricey. And, it's more versatile (has a lot more MOLLE loops) than the more expensive chest rig from Specter. |

Last with the flap down in the rear part of the bag there is a mag pouch that holds 3 30 rd. AK47 mags and there is enough room to use it as a dump pouch

My idea isnt as attractive as alot of the chest rigs out there but, Im a suspenders and pouches kind of guy.
Ive found the British 1958 pattern web gear will easily hold 3 AK 74/47 mags per pouch, they will hold 4-5 AR15 mags each, and 3 mags for a .308 rifle easily fit as well. For me that is the most cost effective option considering the interchangability factor. And a set of gear costs about 20 dollars, with varying load options that a belt and suspenders provide. Sorry no pictures. |

I use the same bag. Low profile, secure, rugged, and holds a decent amount of mags. Easy to throw around in the car/house/range, has belt loops to secure to a belt, can be used as a manbag, or use both as I do. It distributes the weight nicely. I also have a similar looking Chinese pouch for my Chinese drum mag. |

Where did you get these bags? Looks like something I can incorporate into my gear. |

I updated the rig and am thinking about adding an AR15 3 mag shingle with 3 20 rounders in it across the front and moving my FAK to the left side instead of centered.
As it sits now. ![]() |

The AR shingle can be a tight fit, you might consider this: www.skdtac.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1726 |

Got the 7.62 EssTac Tripple Wedge in today. SKD ROCKS!!! Ordered it Friday and it was here when I got home. I did some rearrangements on the gear. Moved the med pouches arround, move the multitool and Surefire G2 to the 1st line, and added the EssTac to the Eagle rig.

tarrigoni,
I believe that belt and suspender rig is by BattleLab. http://www.diamondbacktactical.com/BattleLab-Low-Profile-LB-Suspenders-P296C0.aspx http://www.diamondbacktactical.com/BattleLab-BackpackAssaulters-Accessory-Belt-33-42-P279C127.aspx |

It has two side pouches for miscellaneous gear plus a center pocket commonly used for maps and the like. The straps are padded and have quick-release buckles. The materials and workmanship are first-rate. I don't think Blackhawk makes it in Woodland anymore, though. |
