Any opinions which way to go here? 

Dogleg G3
Pros:
-longer sight radius
-easy to mount variety of optics right on the rail

Cons:
-price ($230 with rear sight)
-side mount becomes useless



Midwest Gas Tube
Pros:
-$70

Cons:
-heat 
-damage to optics??
-still need side mount if i ever want to throw a scope on temporarily
