I have a Romanian WASR 10/63 and I am looking to get a mount and scope for it for longer range shooting (200yd+) since my eye sight is not the best.

I was looking at the options, and i'm really unsure of what to go with. I liked the idea of getting a railed dust cover, but it seems like many people online were saying that these have issues holding zero. I'd like to keep my budget under $400 for the mounting system and scope preferrably, but am willing to spend more if necessary, and i'd like to get a scope that goes up to at least 4x preferrably 6x magnification.

Can anyone give me advice as to what they have chosen and how it performed for them? Thanks a lot.

The simplest option is to buy a POSP 4x24 or 6x24 with AK mount http://russianoptics.net/Concepts.html. That will likely be the cheapest also but getting the AK mount could be tricky.

TWS railed topcovers have an excellent reputation for holding zero, but outside of them there are very options that actually work

For any kind of optic look at the Primary Arms scopes. PA has a great reputation for building tough budget optics that are very dependable for range use.

An RS Regulate mount will run you at least $180 and a Primary Arms 3x 7.62x39 scope will run $260, so you're looking at $440 give or take a little.

The scopes have BDC for 7.62x39 that will get you to 200yds without an issue.

Here is their 3x:

Here is their 1-6x:

Here is the RS Regulate mount:

If you go with the 3x scope, get this upper so you can mount it low:

if you get their 1-6x, go with their 30mm rings:

Thank you very much for the replies. I'm leaning towards the 1-6x - I should get two 30mm rings for this right?

Also I think the link for the RS Regulate mount is wrong. Were you talking about something like this? http://www.primaryarms.com/rs-products-ak303-2nd-generation-fulllength-optic-rail/p/ak-303/

Yes, that's the one I meant, and I would get two 30mm rings.

Hope you enjoy it!
