Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 1 o'clock 45 deg Red Dot on a C39 Pistol

Has anyone had good luck mounting a Red Dot sight on an AK 47 pistol (C39 in particular as it comes with factory rails) to the vertical accessory rail using a 45 deg riser (accessory picattiny style mount)?

I'd like to keep the open sights available, and then switch to the red dot at 1 o'clock position.  I've seen mostly the three gun guys mounting a red dot (or open sights) on the side.

Thanks for any ideas (pics would be great)!
