First post here! Well, I bought an AK for my brother from Century Arms. It's the Sporter model. He is picking it up from the dealer this weekend and wants to put an optic or scope on it. I'm looking for suggestions for an optic.

So, the purpose for this rifle will be weekend range time, 100 yards or less I'd say. He has no interest in competition, using it for defense, or taking tactical classes with it.

That being said, I'm ready to recommend he buy a Lucid because he doesn't have an interest in spending tons of money on the opti at this point.

Price range is about 300$ or less.

If it's the Centurion C39, then it doesn't have a side rail for optics.

He's going to have to get a top cover rail, or an Ultimak in addition to the optic if he wants a reliable mount while keeping zero.

I have this AK and used mount that replaced rear sight, had picatiny rail with hood that allowed for Burris FF 3. Outstanding!!
