Does anyone use this setup (bolt on or quick detach) and achieve cowitness? If so to what degree (1/3, absolute)? I am already confident in the GG&G line, but am wondering if their mounts will allow cowitness on an AK using an Aimpoint micro (T1). Also, having always used Eotechs in the past, im also wondering if the Aimpoint T1 comes equipped with an integral rail mounting system that would allow cowitness, and if so, I am wondering if I should skip the mount entirely and just bolt it on the Ultimak for cowitness. However, I fear that this option might leave the red dot too low. Does anybody have any help on this? I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

Ok, ive been doing a little research. If I understand correctly I can bolt the T1 straight to the Ultimak and get a 1/3 cowitness, and it would seem, without any issues resulting from heat from the rifle bieng expelled on the direct connection, great. However, would using a mount, especially the GG&G bolt on mount I expressed interest in, offer any advantage over the direct connection? How would that change the sight picture or rather the degree of cowitness? Would using the GG&G mount result in cowitness? Ready to order here, awaiting this final bit of information. Thanks.

The mount that the Aimpoint micros come with allow for co-witness.
The only quick disconnect mount that I know of that allows co-witness is the Aimpoint made Micro LRP kit, which converts the stock mount to a quick detach.

Aftermarket mounts are not ideal on an AK with Ultimak due to height, the stock set up is the best I have seen.

Thanks. I talked to GG&G today and they were right up front, telling me that their mount woild not work for what i want to do. Looks like ill just skip it and go with the aimpoint integral mount straight on the ultimak.

Solid choice man. Definitely a high speed low drag type set up.
