THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I have a SLR106 that I am trying to mount optics to. I know that aimpoint T1's are most popular across the board, but I already have an Eotech XPS 2-0 and ACOG RCO available for use. My preferable is to the ACOG since it currently isn't mounted to anything specifically.

Anyways, I was looking for input from anyone who has mounted these optics to their AK via the TWS Dog Leg. Does it work well? Do they end up too high for a propper cheek weld? Etc. Those are the main questions I have, but any general input regarding the subject and your personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you already have both then why don't you mount them up and test them?
Much better than relying on someone else's word.

Both optics were designed with ARs in mind and will sit somewhat high on an AK. You can add a cheek rest to an existing stock or change the stock to one with an adjustable cheek rest if you so desired.

I would, but I don't have the Dog Leg yet and I'm deciding if it's worth the hassle. Or if I should just suck it up and get an aimpoint and be done with it.

Do you have a side rail? You could get a MI scope mount and that way not have to mess too much with your rifle. Don't know if its cheaper or not.

I tried a EOtech on a slovakian's Vz. 58, and I actually liked the way it felt without a cheek weld, almost like it was designed to engage moving targets, just my personal preference

I have thought about getting a side rail, but would like something that allows me a good cheek weld.

as for the cheek weld, mounting a scope or eotech isn't going to take away from your cheek weld, you could always add some additional height to the buttstock

I have the regular folding stock right now, what would be an ideal cheek riser that you would suggest?

I have an EO-Tech on mine. Its high but I use a MagPul MOE stock with their highest cheek riser and it works really well.

I dig it.

Agreed. I use the same on a .308 Vepr and it produces a very good cheek weld.
