Thanks.  To TH-X15, I think there are some more pics of it with that scope in this thread or the general pic thread.

Kobra EKP-03 on a WASR.  Works well and surprising accuracy compared to what I've read.

Some pics I found exploring a Russian gun forum.

First pic I have found of a 1P78 in actual use:

This mount looks like it was specifically designed for the EOTECH:

a 7.62 version?

Yup.  The reticle is calibrated out to 800 meters and "AKMC" is etched into the reticle (visible in the FOV).

The 5.45 versions are calibrated to 1000 meters and have "AK74" etched into the reticle.

It seems that 99% of the PO3.5s out there are 5.45 versions, my 7.62 PO is only the second one I have ever seen.  Recently bought it from another member here.

The PO looks at home on that Yugo Liquid. NICE, if I ever get back into 7.62 it will be a Yugo.  Love the look of that rifle.

Finally scored a EG Zeiss.  The SGL31 is off being converted, so it will have to sit on my 106 for the sake of pics for now.

Thanks.  Yugo M70B1s are my favorite AK variant, I own two of them.  The "twins" have subtle differences (besides optics) that set them apart:

The PO should look familiar, it's former owner has posted pics of it on here before.  You probably can guess who that is...

Congrats on your latest acquisition as well.

Liquidmetal -

I'm considering the PO 3.5x21 for my SGL31. I went to Eastwave and they have a 3.5x21P

www.eastwavescope.com/index.php?event=description&gr_1=8&gr_2=14&item=67&lang=en

I'm wondering if you know what the difference is between them one is a P and one is not and they look a bit different.

Also I noted that you also have a IP78 2.8. Which do you like better the 3.5x21 or the IP78 2.8?

Anyone can offer an opinion .

Thanks,

The one pictured on Eastwave's site is the non-illuminated version, it lacks the battery compartment you see on mine.  Regardless of the picture, I believe Eastwave is selling the illuminated version, you can e-mail them to confirm.  I love the excellent clarity and FOV of the 3.5x21.

I do not own a 1P78.

I did a small review comparing the two here:

I have since sold my PO if that answers your question.  Honestly, I love the PO too, but I give a slight edge to the 1P78 due to it's smaller size.  Just a more well rounded optic IMO.  The glass quality on the PO is slightly better though.

Aimpoint Comp3 in a modified BP-02 mount.  This mount is just a bit too high to co-witness, but it is really robust and has held up fine for years now.  Rifle is a Krebs Custom AK103k.

Below is a 10-shot composite 100-yard target.  I fired 5 rounds, removed the Aimpoint/BP-02 mount, remounted and then fired 5 more rounds -

The hole on the far right is a pulled shot from the first string. The extreme spread for all ten shots is 3-1/2 inches, 2-7/8 inches for the nine shots excluding the flyer.  Not only is the BP-02 mount - when properly adjusted - very repeatable, but my Krebs Custom AK is incredibly consistent using this Barnaul Brown Bear load.

Since my lousy eyes can only see the Aimpoint dot as sort of a smear, it doesn't lend itself very well to precision shooting.  I may have to mount a decent 1-4X scope on this rifle some day to see what it is really capable of.

Nice rig.

Couple of questions.

- Are the irons pretty much a no-go now with the high cheek weld of the ace folding mechanism?

- Did you chop the buffer tube so as to be able to get the CTR stock to run flush as pictured?

Thanks.

Irons are definitely usable, but I have to  push the cheek onto the stock a little harder.

Yes - full info in this thread.

Thanks.  I kinda winced at the $400 price tag, but a quality scope and mount purchased separately would have run me at least that much, so I'm good with it.  It's relatively light and compact for a 3-9x variable, which is what I was after.
