Very nice. Planning one for 7.62x39?
If you can't beat them, join them. Then beat them.
If that doesn't work, arrange to have them beaten.

Nope; that's not my bag. But if somebody does one, I'd be happy to put a link to it on my page!

Shooter521, That is a great link. Have you put any thought into showing all the different factory numbers for each of the mags? I just came across some E. German mags with 4 different factory numbers on the bottom. I have no idea how many different numbers there could be.

Oh and could some collector out there do this for the AK47 mags. I have the hardest time trying to figure out which one is which.

The number that appears on the right side of EG mags is a "mold number" and does not denote the manufacturer or plant where the mag was produced. This is in contrast to the Bulgarian mags, which have a mold number on the left side, and the arsenal code (which also happens to be a number) on the right.

We could start a "mold number database" for 5.45 mags of various nationalities, but I'm not sure what end that would serve, since the mold numbers really don't mean anything.

Great informational web page. Sure wish I could find a damn firebrick mag.

Anyway, I have an AK-47 magazine chart, if you'd like to add a link to it on your page. I guess I'd have to email you the attachment. If interested, foward me your email address.

I'd like some details on how you cut down your 30 round mags to 20.

I would like to do the same thing myself.

That's a great post! I( didn't know there were that many differnt '74 mags out there.

I will recommend that you get some of the Bulgarian 45 round waffle mags while Cope's has them. Listed as "Uncommon" on the post.

Just fired off a message to a buddy who's doing some contract work overseas, asked him to
see if he can get his hands on any of the PAKISTANI "KHYBER PASS" 30rd POLYMER mags.........

I will not rest until I get my hands on at least one.

Can anybody tell me why there isn't a 5.45 drum around, how hard would it be to modify one from the Chinese 7.62 model? What is the exact reason there has yet to be a drum?

I posted this here a while ago, but it was not made a sticky....Here it is on another site. Its actually how to cut a 30 down to a 15, but you can make any cap you want...as long as its less than 30...
