A 40-rd bakelite is one of the last magazines that I care to buy, but like some of the Bosnian magazines, I'm not paying $175+ for one.  I'd spring maybe $100 for one, which certainly isn't going to get me one in the current market.

A flood of 40-rd bakelites would really mess up the 2nd-hand market in terms of the pricing, but that would be great!

I got my two this weekend.  Both look good.  One has a few spots of surface rust.  That one fits, incredibly tight.  My question is that mag has a completely flat, smooth floorplate.  No raised circle or oblong mark on it.  Just smooth as a baby's ass.  What is this?  Both mag body's seem to have the Russian proof marks, but the Molot star mark is piss poor.  On both.   Anyone, seen a flat floor plate before?

Never mind, I see it is probably a slabside mag plate.  Some issues with these mags, from what I have now read.

Thanks

Mine showed up.  3 had clear stars, other two didnt. 1 was glossy, other 4 more standard.  Look unused except the glossy one.

Got mine. Lots of proof marks. No Molot stars. Black paint on mag body and spring, but does not appear to be "paint over rust". Follower does not hang up on anything inside the mag.

Why would they have a 15rd wire magazine block?  I didn't know they needed anything like that over there

Russia has regulations regarding their exports. Their rifles can't have bullet guides and mags have to be capped at 10 rounds. The wires are always 10 round wires, not 15.

Are these combloc reliable?  Thinking of adding a few to the family but at $30/ea Id rather wait for some reviews before investing $150
