The truth is, there is never a better era in which to be alive than a decadent one. The food is good, the liquor flows, women are usually willing and someone else is fighting the wars.

CDNN has "lightly pitted used" Romanian 30 rounders for $6.88 each.
I picked up 20 for $148/shipped. Let's see how they look when they turn up. |

I'll bet CDNN bought a batch of used mags, and had some guy sort them - nice ones go in the $12.99 pile, rusted ones in the 6.88 pile. http://www.cdnnsports.com/magazines/ak47-30rd-762x39-steel-magazine-romanian.html |

I'm not afraid of a little rust as long as they feed. I kind of enjoy sorting through magazines and saving some cash with some elbow grease. That started with those Sportsman's Guide 12 packs back in the day. Wish I still had that fleur de leis mag :-/ |

That started with those Sportsman's Guide 12 packs back in the day. Wish I still had that fleur de leis mag :-/ The magazines showed up Wednesday after I ordered them on Saturday. CDNN blows 99% of gun vendors out of the water when it comes to shipping. The magazines all came individually bagged, which was the first time I've bought surplus magazines that were dirt cheap. It does seems that any magazine that had ANY rust or pitting was thrown into the $6.88 pile. The worst magazine had a stuck follower that functions just fine after a sharp blow from a hammer and some steel wool. The best has a single dime sized rust spot on the base of the magazine. The most interesting magazine has the numbers "23" stenciled on the bottom left side of the magazine. Was it a rack number, somebody's favorite athlete, or just maybe an armory marker. I'll keep that one with its original finish. Most showed what you would expect from issued magazines that feed corrosive ammunition: corrosion on the feed lips and follower. There was a single magazine that was pitted in the front of the magazine in the manner I have seen firearms with blood splatter pitted. I'm thinking with two hours of work that these should all be GTG. I'll post some pics later if I have time. I would buy more if funds allowed it. |

From everything I've read the Korean mags seem to be hit or miss. The five 20rd Korean mags I have fit and feed perfectly with my Vepr, other people have had nothing but problems with them. CDNN has them for $8.99 and they occasionally go on sale for $7.99 each |

Used Hungarian mags are ~$9 each from WhatACountry. You have to buy in batches of ten.
Free shipping for $100+ orders thru 10/31. Packs of ten are $89.50. Add one "Good" $12 mag (or a pouch) for free shipping. http://whatacountry.com/ak-47-30-round-magazine-hungarian.aspx I bought a batch of these. Mine are well used, with finish wear. But no dents/problems. |

Toth AK Mags back in stock. $24.99
http://tothtool.3dcartstores.com/762x39-30rd-AK-Magazine--Steel-Reinforced-Polymer-_p_58.html Description The Toth Tool & Engineering AK magazine is a high strength polymer composite magazine that is 20% lighter than traditional steel magazines, it is also corrosion resistant due to its all polymer/stainless steel design. The magazine is reinforced with stainless steel in three critical areas, the feed lips, front locking lug and rear locking lug. Testing has shown that polymer feed lips fail when faced with multiple impacts or extreme loads. Imported magazines use a thinner, lower grade, of steel in their feed lip reinforcement causing them to deform and remain deformed when when a heavy load is exerted upon them. The stainless steel rear locking lugs durability is such that during impact testing the trigger guard and magazine catch on rifles have been damaged without failure to the magazines locking lug. In other reinforced magazines steel spines are used as an attachment point for the steel reinforced front locking lug, the spine it self does not require reinforcement as it is inherently durable due to the fact that its cross sectional thickness is greater than any other area of the magazine. Toth Tool & Engineering has designed our stainless steel front locking lug so that it is integral with the feed lip reinforcement (Patent Pending), eliminating the need to attach the front locking lug to the spine of the magazine. Don't be fooled by the marketing hype from the competition or the nostalgia of import polymer magazines, only Toth Tool & Engineering offers an affordable fully reinforced polymer AK magazine. This magazine is made entirely in the USA, and when installed in your rifle, counts toward three 922(r) compliant parts. Features Include: 300 series stainless steel reinforced feed lips with integral front locking point (Patent Pending) 300 series stainless steel rear locking lug and floor plate 17-7 stainless steel magazine spring for improved spring life and corrosion resistance Proprietary polymer composite magazine body construction Anti tilt follower design 30rd Magazines cannot ship to CA, CO, CT, NY, NJ, MA, MD or Cook County, IL |
