Yes, the Barnaul 'mil-spec' load is a custom load we had that factory restore when the guys at GT thought they were going out of busienss in 2014, in terms of pressure / velocity it is the same as other commercial and military contract material, it is similar to the ammo they made back in late 1990s to 2005, before the factory cut costs by switching to polymer/unsealed. The main difference on the Barnaul mil-spec load is the military spec finish of the cartridge with lacquered case and sealed primers / projo, other than that it is the same 60 grain load the factory makes in other branding. Of course we cannot import a 7N6 clone due to the ban on steel core, and keep in mind 7n6 is not the only mil-spec 5.45, they made 7n10, 7n22 and other specs that we just never got to see much of here in the USA. Basically the Ak74 shooter / consumer really wanted a lacquered / sealed military-like load for the consumer market and we had Barnaul make it. Keep in mind that GT had not made 5.45 an option for the USA market for 4 to 5 years before the stuff that just came in a few months ago, and Barnaul was more flexible to do what the USA consumer wanted. On this option you are paying the extra 5% for packaging, spam cans, crates, believe it or not the factory charges extra for the cool packaging, but IMO its worth it for long term buyers. We have the same ammo in wolf packaging for the same price as GT keeping things equal. I am not trying to sell one brand as better than the other, they are both great products, just want to keep the facts straight.
