Last time I bought any was when about 700rds cost $60.
I've got some left, and it is green boxed State Unitary Enterprise or Ulyanovsk.
Shoots well out of my new Arsenal.
I bought a little bit of Tual at Walmart today and it shot terrible, and it was made at the same place as the above.
Anyway, SGAmmo has some Uly for 21 cents a round, and I can get Golden Tiger for about 23 or 24 cents.
Which would be best?

Any noticeable difference in performance over all the other stuff out there?

I go with Brown Bear,Golden Tiger,Monarch from Academy for practice.

All shoots pretty much the same, just buy what the cheapest.Tula is the bottom of the barrel ammo for blasting.

8M3 from the early 1990's for SHTF/HD use

Uly is my favorite but order whatever you can while you can. It all goes bang in a Kalash. Well 98 percent do. Polymer is ok but for stacking back laquer is king.

Bulk training ammo: 124gr Golden Tiger, 123gr Wolf 'Mil Spec' green box, 123gr Academy 'Monarch' when they do sales or discounts, and for non bimetal bullets Yugo M67. All of these will serve you well in that they are respectably accurate, reliable ammunition that stores well.

Defensive ammo: Uly 8HP (great) or 8M3 (even better), Lapua 125gr JSP are phenomenal but are unicorns. Sometimes you can find Uly ammo if you pay attention to forum sales and poke into gun stores / shows now and then. More available defensive ammo would be 120gr Winchester PDX1, 123gr Hornady SST, and 123gr Federal Fusion. Lehigh Defense should be coming out with 7.62x39 soon that will hopefully give more Uly 8HP/8M3 like fragmentation.

Ended up with a case of Wolf Mil Spec.
Shoots like all the other 7.62 I have fired over the years, and it was $10 cheaper than Golden Tiger.
Still, I'll give GT a try next time.
