Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Does 124 or 154gr. have better downrange energy from a short barrel?

Been looking at an AK or AR in 8-11.5", and was hoping to use for short range hunting.  I have both 124 and 154 gr. ammo, and was wondering which would have more downrange energy.  Does anyone have any numbers?  Mainly looking at Tula 124SP vs Tula 154SP.
