THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT For the AR, you keep a spare BCG, buffer springs, and that's usually about it. Maybe a gas-tube if you're really paranoid. What do I need to keep to keep my AK in service "indefinitely"? Also, what fits my AK? I have heard country of manufacture matters here. It is an Arsenal SA-M7-01. From what I understand, it is Bulgarian, but the gas-block is a 90* version, and the receiver was milled in LasVegas by Arsenal INC. What do I need to keep on hand, small-parts wise? What is "prone to breaking" on this platform? |

Based on the spares kit for the PKM (upside down AK action) the parts that break are:
Firing pins. Extractor, Extractor axle. Since most of the AKs over here don't have the original FCGs in them I keep a spare complete FCG around. I also learned that if you're not paying attention you can mangle the disconnector spring while reassembling a FCG and need to replace it. H |

KVAR told me that all AK-47 parts will fit my AK-47, (Arsenal SAM7) except the new AMK bolt/carrier from Russia. Is this true? Is the bolt a drop-in part on an AK like on the AR? |

It can be dropped in, but no guarantees on whether headspace will be good with a replacement bolt.

Gas tube
disconnector spring Extractor Firing pin Extractor spring Extractor retaining pin retaining pin for firing pin spare bolt for the long haul **always check head space before dropping in a bolt.** also make sure if you buy a bolt from arsenal or Kvar that you do not get a SGL AK 47 bolt, they are smaller diameter bolts based on the AK74 bolt. The only bolt i know that wont drop in would be a Chinese bolt. They have slight differences than a regular AK bolt . You will most likely never need any of these parts.Good to have on hand ? yes |
