Guys I have a somewhat failed park job with the kit from Calvan.com. Not sure what went wrong as the instructions were followed with a couple flubs.  Anyway I painted it with high temp grill paint. Looked good......til I found out even CLP has the stuff coming off, and Hoppes 9 with strip it off in sheets. Too bad because it really does look nice.

My plan is to strip it, re paint, and call it done. Only one more time I hope

Some paint is just not made to resist chemicals.
But VHT engine enamel will if applied properly.
I spray a light coat & let it dry over 24 at least. Then cure it by putting it in a 200° oven for 20 min. Before putting on my guns I did a test of my own, I sprayed a piece of receiver scrap & cured it. After it cooled I scrubbed it with acetone. The finish dulled a bit from the scrub pad but the paint stayed on.
Here is a Bulgarian 74 with VHT on it.

I picked up the paint at my local auto parts store.
