I'm relatively new to AK building..... I have a full Saiga conversion coming along fairly well, but slow... as I want to do it right. I have collected about $600 worth of tooling from AK Builder and an HF press. I have a mechanical background and tig welding ability before anyone asks.
I picked up a real nice Polish AKM kit about 10 years ago and need a receiver for it (with no interest in building up from scratch). I also have a Russian 5.5mm folding stock that I would like to use for a Khyber pass style build. I'm currently cutting the Saiga receiver for a Russian folder and would like to buy a receiver for the Polock with most of the work done (also may use as a reference). Are the Childer's gtg? Or is there another company I should look at?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!
Confession.... I'm an AR guy that has gone to the dark side. I hate this place
