Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Altering Npap stock

Hi all
Wanting to purchase my first ak and plan to take it backpacking with me. I want to buy the Npap but absolutely detest the stock. Looks like a waste of weight. Does anyone know if there is a way I could possible sand the stock, and cut the rubber butt pad, to standard AKM length? Would this affect function? If you have any pics or a link it would be much appreciated.

You can cut the stock down and install a different butt pad.  Not sure if space is a concern for you or if you would like a folding stock but you can get
the ACE Yugo Adapter and install a folding mechanism or tube for a collapsible AR type stock.  This would not affect function.  Just google ACE Yugo adapter and it'll show you lots of pics.
