Planning to attempt a 74 build, and have most of the parts except a receiver blank.
Not doing a flat because I don't know anyone that has a bending jig, but I have a friend with
a drilling jig (and riveting tools) who has done a build before.
So my question is that I have found two options:
1) Tantal blank from Arms of America - not heat treated - or
2) Tantal blank from Childers - already heat treated for about $9 more
It seems like $9 well spent not having to worry about heat treatment, but my
buddy whose drill jig I would use says he doesn't know if I can drill a heat treated receiver
with standard bits and reamers.
So has anyone used a Childers and drilled it themselves? Outcome?
Any other receiver options that I need to consider instead of these two?
Thanks (and yes I already got a little ammo before the panic!!)
