I made a 9mm Vityaz clone, but I'm now going to attempt to make a "K" model of the same weapon.

The pic here... is that using the Sterling magazine like the one that seems to be stuck in a de-mil Sterling receiver chunk?

Or is it using HK MP-5/84 magazines?

Yes, It's a Sterling mag. The weapon will use either Sterling or Sten mags.

After I finish my spin on the the "K" model design, I'm going to see if I can have kits made. That's if, I can find investors that are interested.
The bolt will be my same custom design, but the recoil assembly will be different in the "K" model.

I made arrangements for the 3D CAD work to be done on this 9mm AK project by the end of the month.
I want to offer this as a complete weapon in the future.

I know Sten mags are relatively cheap, but the curved Sterling mags just look better. More akin to a regular AK/Krink...

Are you going straight blowback, or gas operated? I built a 7.62x25 AK as a blowback gun.

If you are needing Sterling mags, and have an FFL, then get a hold of Century Arms as they were having them on sale for $10. Mine came with varying amounts of finish and only a couple had some surface rust of an inch or two in size, few had some spotted surface rust, but none of the mag bodies or feed lips were dented and the followers went up and down freely. One of the mags was an L1A2 mag and the rest were the standard L2A3. I used to have a bunch of Sten mags because they were so cheap but now I have twice as many of the more superior Sterling mags due to this sale at Century.

I will have to check out Gunco.net for your build and when you're finished with your build you should think about putting it on www.weaponsguild.com as well. I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before now and look forward to checking it out as I really like guns that are converted to 9mm.
