When I purchase new barrels, they often ship with a protective sleeve, or mesh netting.  It is very cheap, but effective.  I am searching on Brownells, Amazon, etc., and I cannot find it.  Does anyone know what this is called, and/or where it can be purchased?

Is it the same as used by electrical supply warehouses when they ship cylindrical items? Check with those guys.

Trying to remember the name, it's expanded nylon tubing, or nylon mesh tube or something like that.

Google "protective netting" and you will get lots of hits.  Places like Uline sell it and most any big packaging company (think cardboard sheet or box company).

I believe I used something similar to cover my SCUBA octo hose for visibility reasons.   Might check the local SCUBA shop.

My good friend & gunsmith uses the tubing to put a beautiful design on his barrels. Sorta looks like snake skin or a diamond pattern.
