FWIW it is okay for light use in my humble opinion. I use and prefer breakfree clp for heavy and everyday use etc. That's just me though.. FYI I have no connection to breakfree or hoppes I just use some of their kit.

Hoppes oil will work for plinking at the range. Seems to burn off faster than CLP when rock n rollin'.

I use it exclusively in my Mossberg 500. I like it quite a bit. Lasts longer than CLP before burnoff, and also seems to be a better lubricant

I use whatever bottles of gun oil I have at the moment for my bolt action guns and revolvers.
For semi autos I use something else. |

Works alright but save some bucks and just buy a quart of Mobil 1.

It's mineral oil. The same thing that you can get for the same price in much larger containers. You can even get baby oil for the same thing with a nice smell.

I only use it on handguns. Rifles get Terta lube.
