I gotta say real avid makes some innovative shit. Their cleaning kits geared for rifles and handguns really aren't bad at all, especially when someone is just getting into it. I bought the ar kit for a buddy who just got his first rifle, nifty little tool in there

Yeah, I just have their bolt scraper. Works great and priced right.

Not sure what advantage it has over a good bore snake in terms of cleaning function as it has less overall surface area, by an order of magnitude.
Will likely work perfectly well though. Cable to feed through is nice. |

I like the built in handle/storage assembly mostly. I hate when my bore snakes get all tangled up.
