I'd like an inexpensive cleaning Tub, large enough to submerge an A2 upper, so about 30 X 6 X 6.

Ideas?

Thank you, gentlemen.

Thanks, they hold way yonder too much cleaning liquid.

Long, but not too deep, or wide.

Vat/container material also kinda depends on why you're cleaning them, and what you're cleaning them with.

The only times I've had to clean a weapon that thoroughly was after shooting milsurp corrosive 5.45 in a 5.45 AR upper.

And that only had to be dunked long and well enough to rinse the water soluble salts out of it before normal cleaning.

So I just took it through the shower with me when I got back from the range to run hot water through 'er.

You don't specify harsh chemicals, volatile fumes, or soaking Vs agitated scrubbing.

Just dropping it in for a soak - you could use the PVC pipe above, or you you could knock a trough together whatever size you needed using a 2x6xLength, or 2x8xLength base, a couple 2x4xLlength sides/ends, and line it with a Glad yard&leaf bag.

You don't have to fill it full!

They do make low profile wrapping paper totes that might be perfect.

Poly Gun Bag

I assume these are water tight.  If you evacuate the air, you wouldn't have to fill it all the way as it would be flexible and contour to the gun.  Put gun and solvent, dunk into a barrel of water to get all the air out (keep opening out of water barrel), then seal it and let it sit.

I use a plastic tray that is intended to go under a plastic elongated planter pot. Go to a garden center and browse around the cheap plastic planter pots & trays. You will know it when you see it.

I use a cheap ass cat litter box for any deep cleaning.... it's very close to your dimensions, OP.

Lots of nice ideas; none I've found locally, so far, meet the Minimum Length of 30 inches, so I may Submerge a Complete A2 Upper; but, I'm sure a Window Box &/or Wallpaper Tray would do the trick.

In the meantime, I cleaned my uppers, & put this project out of mind.

Look around Lowe's or Home Depot.  Maybe a section of rain gutter with a cap on each end.

I usually buy one of those aluminum, throw away turkey basting pans, to submerge my whole barrel and receiver on my Rem 742, when I do a deep cleaning on it.  For small parts, I bought a small rectangle cake pan from the Dollar store for like $4.00
