Hot soapy water is a great cleaner for firearms.
I rinse and then blow it out with my air compressor. Remember that its going to remove any lube so you'll need to replace any oils. Might be a rust issue if you live in Mississippi or Alabama or some savage jungle state. |

When I was a kid my dad showed me how to rinse the dirt and powder residue out of our Rem.1100 trigger assys with hot water. Works great and if hot enough it pretty much evaporates. Hair dryer if necessary and re-oil. GTG!

I just throw my guns in the bed of my truck and go through a car wash. Do the same for my kids.

Nope.
A guy in 1-84FA 2nd platoon in Afghanistan 2011 was caught with a M4 up his ass to the front sight post.. THAT was gay, know the only thing more gay, the guys in his squad paid him $300 to do it.  God I hated my last unit.

I don't want to think about how much time I would have to spend cleaning a BCG without one. |
