How often should the buffer and buffer spring be cleaned and lubed and should that be done in a typical after the range field strip and clean?

I don't ever "clean" my buffer/spring. At most, it happens to get a wipe down if I feel like it. Not something I worry about.

Every time I clean, I clean the receiver extension, buffer and spring. It's really pretty simple. I run a shot gun mop down the extension with some light lube/cleaner. The buffer gets a quick wipe down, as well as the spring, with a lightly oiled rag. That's it, you're done, reassemble.
