So what are recommended new springs for 30 round GI mags? I will preface that I am looking for springs for mags that are going to be built into permanent 15 round mags for state compliance. I have seen the red springs and although I acknowledge  they seem  rather good, I can't justify $7 for spring that won't be used to their full potential.  I plan on have Magpul anti tilt followers and L plates installed as well. Any suggestions  are appreciated.

Saw those...still rather pricey for a single spring.

Anyone ever try the springs from CDNN? Since I am not loading to full capacity, because the mags will be permanently blocked, Don't need anything crazy expensive. Just need it to work when I want.

Slightly off topic, but are mag springs universal?  i.e. will the Wolff (or any other brand) work in GI, Magpul, Lancer etc mags?

What I have been finding is some are proprietary to Magpul, and others to USGI type mags.

I've seen those. From a standpoint of quality, which is better SS or the CS spring? I'm looking at it from the standpoint of, once the mag is permanently modified, won't be able to open it up to change parts later w/o wrecking the mag body. I know SS won't rust, but how about the CS springs?

I've never had a problem with CS springs.

When I lived in NJ I used PMags modified by riflegear.com . I had both 20 and 30's. The floor plates are pinned but they can be removed. When I moved back to PA I just knocked the pin through and took out the plastic blocks. I'm still using the same springs in them today. Might be worth getting a few.

Look on the left side of the screen for "15 round magazines".

I have a number of P-mags in both 20 and 30 that are modified to 15 round capacity. Unfortunately cant do anything with them if I move. The bases are epoxied in place.  I want some metal body 20 round mags as well to block to 15 so as I have a mix of mags.

I just wish NJ would grow up and allow full capacity mags. It would make everyone's life so much easier.
