I'm a fan of otis because I don't have patience to buy a bunch of separate parts... Though I did get a few caliber boresnakes and various caliber nylon brushes for my pistols.

Ive got numerous cleaning kits Ive bought over the years from USGI type,Dewey,Otis, and many Ive assembled from separate components I packed in RG57 tins. Also have Dewey coated rods and AR chamber cleaning kit etc I use at home frequently.
I did the Bore Snake for a short time and just didn't have any love for them at all.
Started buying Otis kits a couple years ago and never looked back. The Otis kit I use most and always have with me is the Otis 3-Gun kit as it does all I need in regards to rifle, pistol, shotgun etc.I added some calibers to it by simply adding the appropriate bore brushes.
So for an all in one kit that will do just about all you ever need I'd recommend the Otis 3-Gun kit.
Here is where I get my Otis kits....best prices Ive found anyway.

For a CLP I use/prefer Weapon Shield CLP.

I bought the Otis M16/AR15 cleaning kit and then I bought the brass scrapper set from Otis as well since AR15 kit did not include the brass scrapper set. Maybe that has changed but I bought my kit back in early 2012. I then ordered some Otis 17 to .25 caliber cleaning patches and some Otis O85 Ultra Bore Solvent as needed.

Otis set(s) for take along, and Dewey BRASS rods, Pro Shot BRASS jags and cotton flannel patches at home.

Hardly any brushing is needed, IF I do, I use BRASS brushes with BRASS looped core and BRASS coupling.

Otis brushes are NOT brass core any more!!! Just cheap plastic coated.

Dewey, Pro Shot, Montana Extreme brushes only ( IF necessary )
