I just got done lubing my lathe with Mobil Vactra Way Lube. That stuff is slick. the 40 Lb tailstock slides with about 2 lbs of lateral force. So, I was wondering, has anyone here used Way lube for guns?

Nope but I use Mobil 10-40 motorcycle oil, and it runs like a champ

Guns aren't too picky about what lubes you use. Try it and see.

I should work well if it doesn't have any tackifier in it.

Not sure how it will handle debris, though.

I've always wondered about that since WAY lube is made for stuff that slides on rails and ways.

Kinda makes sense huh?

Mobil Vactra Way Lube has a low flash point (relatively speaking) of around 220F - 240F.
It was never intended for use in situations that involve high temps.
I'm a tool & die maker and have used Vactra on our lathes and mills for years with great success, but I'd be leery of
its use on a bolt or bcg.
Just my 2 cents.
