So I just received a Tipton Best Gun Vise and within 10 minutes had it assembled and an AR mounted on it. I tried several different angles with the adjustments available and what I have pictured seems the be the most secure. With that said it still seems a bit flimsy although I'm sure it will be adequate for cleaning purposes.

Anyone else have any experience with this vise? Perhaps there's a better choice out there that's close in price but a bit more solid?

I just sold mine on Craigslist, way to flimsey and took up too much room on the work bench.

What are you replacing it with?

Anyone else have recommendations for a more substantial vise?

I have the Tipton and I like it. However, most of the time I use a vice block on a vice mounted to my bench. I recently bought a vice block for AK's.

I'm still keeping the Tipton. It is great for range trips.
