I have a slightly used bolt that was given to me which appeared to be missing the ejector . I drove out the ejector pin & found there is a portion of the ejector spring stuck in the well. Can't catch it with even a very small punch or another spring. Any ideas for removal?

take some stiff wire that barely fits inside the spring remnant.
Nick it to form a barb, and it should push in then snag as you pull back.

Maybe a small paperclip with the end slightly bent.

does your local hardware store sell dental picks? either that or pony up the cash for a snap on pick set ––––they're well worth the money.

I did try just that- no go, couldn't catch anything. Closer examination with a light & loupe revealed that the end of the ejector was broken off in the tunnel. I put a drop of oil in, let it set upright overnight, and then dropped the bolt face-down on a carpeted floor. Ejector fragment & spring came right out. Thanks all for the tips.
