THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Kit contains almost everything you could possibly need to break down and fix almost any part of an AR save the barrel extension and maybe the carrier key (for now). I have a FSB block, upper vise block (15 and 10), ejector tool, mag block, hammers, AR wrench, crescent wrench, drivers and bits, lube, bluing compound, punches, roll pin punches, various small tools (Larue mount, Geissele, etc.), cleaning tools, broken shell extractors, and a free float wrench. I just need to add a large torque wrench and vehicle hitch mounted vise. Parts include LRPK's, most of the roll pins in a standard rifle, cam pins, firing pin, extractors, springs, a spare bolt, gas tubes, trigger kits, buffer springs, buffers, a charging handle, end plates, buffer retainers and springs, gas rings, extractor pins, crush washers/flash hiders, and several more. I can't think of too much more that I would need. I will be adding various gas tube lengths and a castle nut when I can find them. I think it turned out pretty well and ended up all fitting in a small tool box. I will add things as I think of them but should be able to fix about any problem that could arise on location.

At that point, I'd just get another barrel and upper so you could rebuild the entire upper if need be!

As well as most EVERY part you could need. Basically if it can't be fixed with what is in my toolbox you have managed to truly kill it! My question is HOW did you kill the gas tube? How many rounds on it at point of failure? NFA? What happened? |

Pretty sure it had bad heat treat. It eroded through right at the gas port inside the block. When it sheard off it fired into the carrier key and lodged tight. Fun times. It was a spikes 5.45 on a bump fire stock. We were running it but not nearly as hard as I've run others...... Only 3 mags at a time before cool down.

I was there. He wasn't running it as hard as others were that day. Had to be a faulty tube.

LOL ![]() I carry a lot of spares and they generally do NOT get used on my gear, the weapon I am working on in the photos belonged to another shooter. He needed the Troy FF Tube installed and was not able to do it at home. It was a Group Shoot soooo I went ahead and did it for him. Sort of an occupational Hazard. |
