Lost on this one, since if the Bore snake is the correct size, should be able to just tie brass tip section to something solid and yank on the upper against it to pull the snake the last of the way through.
If the wrong size instead (bristle section caught in the chamber), then coat hanger to catch the back end loop, hook it on something solid, and them back yank on the upper receiver to clear it that way.
Hence either way, should always be pulled from chamber to muzzle.
And once you have it cleared of the barrel, just throw the dam thing away and use a one piece cleaning rod with patched and brushes to clean the barrel instead.
Trust be told, the only merit that I have for any bore shake, is one in 12 gauge, and only since I run tube gauge skeet guns, and once I finish a 12 gauge flight, then pull the barrel and barrel weight, drop the tip through the chambers side of the barrel to hit the ground, and stand on the tip while I rack each bore up and down on snake to get the barrels clean enough to drop in the sub gauge tubes instead. And even with using the bore snake to just get the bores clean enough after being shot in 12 and clean enough to drop in the sub gauge tubes, will still use a solid one piece cleaning rod with accessories/solvents to get the bores clean during the normal gun cleanings isntead.
Simply put, if you have a barrel that has been hand lapped, then all your doing with the snake is just re-grooving the barrel surface isntead (and just wasted all the time it took to hand lap the barrel in the first place).
