Hi, I am new to the AR and new to this website, so if I make a mistake, please forgive me.
I recently built an AR on an Anderson Lower Receiver and I have been having issues that I think are related to the mag release or mag catch. The upper that I am using is a PSA and the BCG is a Spikes Tactical.
1 out of every 3-4 rounds fired are ejecting the magazine after cycling. This issue is primarily with HEX mags and this causes me to think that maybe the mag catch or mag release on my lower is cut just slightly too high and maybe there is too much contact with the BCG as it cycles. In addition, my mag vice block will not lock with the mag catch. I have tried PMAGs which appear to have less issues with. With PMAGS, cycling seems fine, but I have been noticing that 1 out of every 20 rounds are having light primer strikes or failures to go into battery, which I think is caused by again, too much contact with the BCG. I live in Kalifornia so I don't have a lot of mags to test out. I was wondering what you all thought about the issue and how you all would fix it.
And I am not sure if it would matter, but I do have a bullet button attached to the mag release, which may or may not affect the issue.
