I've got a 16" carbine that is denting my brass pretty good.
Damage Industries H2 buffer and carbine spring. Green Mountain 16" carbine barrel. PSA premium bolt. Rifle has fired Wolf brass, Federal bulk .223, LC M193 and M855. It hasn't had so much as a hiccup, ejects around 12' at 4:30, but it does this to the brass:

That's caused by the brass deflector- you can sick a piece of fuzzy stick-on velcro on the deflector to stop it.

Normal, since the goverment does not reload, and the deflector is doing its job (preventing spent brass from being ejected into the face of a left hand shooter).
And as noted, fuzzy side of sticky back Velcro attached to the working side of the defector will soften the case blows; to prevent the brass from being dented. |
