you can see where its getting caught and I left the shaving on the bolt carrier. Can any one point me in the right direction as to how to fix this? thanks for the help

but I found a lot of info on that just by reading the forums!

Looks like a bolt over base failure, which means the back of the rounds are too low, to the bolt doesn't strip them from the magazine.

Need pics of a mag seated in the lower, and the mag catch button - might be that your mag catch isn't screwed in enough, letting the mags droop a little.

I loaded two rounds the first goes in but the round left in the magazine gets damaged

I'm not familiar with the bullet button mag releases (why would I be?), so I can't tell if your mag release is not tightened enough, nor tell you exactly how to go about tightening it.

From the described symptoms, I'm gonna presume it needs another turn or two to grasp the mag firmly and hold it at the correct height to feed properly.

On a regular mag release, you'd do that by pushing the mag button in far enough that the mag release clears the receiver on the other side, and then winding it in another revolution, or two.

I am going to try that if it doesn't work Ill put on the original button on thanks for the info

Edit:

ok so I took the button off the I put it back in as far as it would go and it still did the same thing

I loaded the mag pulled the charging handle and it jammed on the second round

Also the mag doesn't go in easy when the bolt carrier is in the closed position I have to tap it in the bottom some what hard to get it to lock into place

Try a different bolt carrier, the one in your last photo looks mis-shapen (could be the photo). Try cleaning and lubing your mag follower (CLP or a bicycle teflon product).

Edit: Almost forgot: full mags don't insert easily on a closed bolt carrier. Put some muscle into it or lock the carrier back to insert.

Very possible the bolt isn't going all the way to the rear. So the bolt reverses direction before it passes by the round, the front of the round sticks up, and the bolt digs into it.

Either undergassed, weak ammo, or too heavy of a buffer.

Try slapping the mag in your hand a few times to seat all ammo to rear of magazine after loading. Looks like ammo is partially forward in your pictures. Also try loading a few rounds of ammo in magazine to get a feel of force need to insert fully loaded magazine and partially loaded magazine. Also make sure when you load chamber your releasing the charging handle and letting it slam shut and your not riding it closed. As for putting the original mag button on doing that in CA is a felony and it's considered an unregistered assault weapon.
