Was sighting in my dad's Bushmaster M4 this past weekend. Fired several FMJ rounds no problem and got irons close. Asked him to give me a mag of what he uses for self defense. I, unfotunately, didn't pay enough attention to the round other than it was a soft point round and the casing had LC 07 NATO cross on it. I thought it funny as I'd never seen a soft point round in LC brass. Fired the first round and it felt/sounded normal. Long story short that round seperated and front 3/4 is jammed up in the chamber. Tried bore brush and 30 cal bore brush with no luck. Tried both different broken shell extractors brownells sells and nothing. Found out it's some bubba reloads his boss got him and other coworkers. Any ideas?

Steel 30 chamber brush should work.

Just drop the cleaning rod down from the muzzle, attach the brush to the cleaning rod ones the tip is out the back side of the receiver , then pull back on the cleaning rod handle until the bristles are in the inside of the remaining case.

From, don't screw around, give the cleaning handle a good pop so the angled bristles get a good bite into the remaining brass case to embed into the inside of the case, and shove the spent case remains out out with the brush when it's drive out the back side of the receiver/chamber.

And never shoot reloads that you have not reloaded yourself!!!!!!
Looking at the flattened primer of the spent case, hot is a under statement, and these where loaded to proof load pressures.
Count yourself lucky since if the case would have let go at the case webbing instead, chances are you would be replacing a receiver when the pressure escaped out the barrel breach and mushroomed out the mag well of the receiver as it blew the mag out as well.

as a total last resort and done carefully tap an easy out into the case twist and pull, Be very careful you are in the brass and not touching the chanber walls if you have to try this

There are broken shell extractors for this exact reason. If your other methods don't work, buy a 223 broken shell extractor, or take the upper to a smith who has one in order to get the rest of the cartridge case out of the chamber.

Reading is fundamental

Finally got it out. Ended up with a real small flat head screwdriver that was about 14" long. Tapped the flat head in about 1/8" of the casing. Then a slight twist of the screwdriver and the casing began to rotate in the chamber. Then used the broken shell extractor to get it out.
