THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Seemed heavy, but my POF/Hogan piston assembly came in at 1.02 pounds. I have seen JP and others advertising lightweight carriers and claiming advantages in lighter recoil and faster cycle times. So, I am asking any users of said products, how do you like it? Can you feel a difference? Pros or Cons? Any pics or other info? TIA TM |

![]() ![]() I posted those in my other thread, but I'll post em again, why not. The BCG is an AR-10B unit that I lightened myself. The buffer is an AR-15 unit that I shortened. It runs fine, the recoil is reduced only if you tune your gas system for it. You can either use an adjustable gas block, or weld up your current gas port and re-drill it smaller. If you use the stock gas port size, you probably wont see much difference, or it might even feel like it recoils more. It doesn't have much recoil as you can see: |

Sweet!
I thought this Hogan carrier was light until I weighed it.

Man, I know that comp has to be LOUD!
I have an adjustable gas block that I may have to try. I have always liked the adjustable gas and piston system on the FAL. It is easy enough to adjust open just enough to reliable cycle and reduce nearly all the excessive force. I need to find a way to do that on my Hogan/POF. It is just about the same as an FAL system. Sweet shooting rifle tho, or at least it seems so in the vid |
